watercolor on paper; fourth painting in my gas station series:
Along CO Hwy 92, on the corner of Bridge and Cedar streets, Hotchkiss, CO, one encounters a beautifully restored Texaco station, complete with restored buildings, gas pumps, and vehicles. Both outside the gas station and inside the mechanic's bays, meticulously restored vehicles complete the illusion that one has stepped back in time. Hotchkiss, a small Colorado town, boasts of art and agricultural. CSU extension service runs a program for biodynamic sustainable agriculture. Surrounded by wineries on the mesas, a restored Creamery for the art center, and a long ranching history, Hotchkiss is a vibrant community.
