Lascaux

From the dawn of humanity, we have been drawn to the beauty and power of horses.  This horse was inspired by the magnificent cave paintings of Lascaux, France.  With its mottled surface of raku fired oxides, the  Lascaux horse appears to emerge from a rock wall.

DreamHorse sculptures begin as ceramic forms  The work progresses over the course of many weeks seamlessly transitioning from clay to wood.   The horses are a fusion of fire and earth.

As metamorphic creatures, DreamHorses spring from the branches of trees to manifest as fanciful horses.   Each sculpture is a unique work of art, integrating diverse media and techniques.
