On the plains of Africa roams a beautiful white zebra with alternating stripes of pale brown and black.  Stepping into the light,

the Burchell's Zebra appears silver and gold!

Native to Africa, zebras are most commonly found on savanna grasslands.  Like human fingerprints, zebra stripe patterns are completely unique.  Once plentiful, zebra habitat is shrinking.  In certain areas of Africa, they are now extinct.  The 18K gold stripes in this sculpture highlight just how precious wildlife is to the world's ecosystem.  All species living in balance ensure healthy populations of plants, animals, as well as water and air quality.  An imbalance of any one population affects the ability of all species to thrive- both plants and animals.  Additionally, zebras enrich the cultural heritage for all humanity.
